Help
Find an expert or an interpreter, read their profile, follow the news and the training sessions. A question not answered here: expertsjustice973@gmail.com.
Find an expert
Open the directory, or type words straight into the banner on the home page, “Find an expert or an interpreter”.
- By keywords: a name, a speciality, a language, a municipality (for example “construction Cayenne”). Every word you type must appear in the profile; accents and capital letters do not matter. As you type, the browser suggests the specialities, languages and municipalities found in the directory: choose one to search for it.
- From the lists: choose a speciality or a language, and a municipality. “Clear” resets the search.
- The whole database, or the Court of Appeal list only: the two buttons above the results show all the experts known to the association (“Whole database”), or only those registered on the list of the Court of Appeal of Cayenne (“On the Court of Appeal list only”).
Members of the association appear first, then the other experts, in alphabetical order. Too few results? Remove a word or a filter.
On a phone, the page scrolls down to the results by itself; the site menu folds away behind the “Menu” button, at the top.
Find an interpreter or a translator
In the directory, type the language (for example “Portuguese”) or choose it from the “Speciality or language” list.
- Interpreting: spoken (police interviews, court hearings…).
- Translation: written (documents, case papers…).
Add “interpreter” or “translator” to the language to keep only one or the other: “Portuguese interpreter”, “English translator”.
Reading an expert’s profile
- Their status on the Court of Appeal list: “On the Court of Appeal list”, “Registration in progress” or “Not on the Court of Appeal list”. Only a registered expert may use the title of expert at the Court of Appeal of Cayenne.
- Their specialities, each with its registration period and, where applicable, the words “probationary period” (first registration, for three years) or “re-registration” (for five years).
- The logo and the words “Member of the association” identify the association’s members.
- The “Call” and “Email” buttons open your phone or your email software: the message is sent by you, and the site keeps nothing of it. The expert’s full address is never published. Phone numbers are shown with their country code (+594 for French Guiana), as WhatsApp recognises them.
- Copy, next to an email address: on a computer without email software, “Email” opens nothing; copy the address and paste it into your webmail (Gmail, Outlook…).
- Share this profile: on a phone, the usual sharing menu (WhatsApp, text message, email…); on a computer, the link to the profile is copied, ready to paste.
- How do I engage this expert?: a box, under the buttons, explains who appoints the expert and what you can ask them directly (a certified translation, for example). The association does not give advice on individual cases.
- Save their business card: on a phone, this button opens the phone’s contacts with the expert’s details (name, title, phone numbers, email addresses, municipality, specialities). Just below, “Show the QR code” displays the same card as a large QR code, for another phone to scan: handy for passing it on. On a computer, a QR code is shown instead of these two buttons: open your phone’s camera and point it at the code; the phone offers to add the contact (name, title, phone numbers, email addresses and the address of the profile). The link below it, “Or add it to this computer’s contacts (Outlook…)”, saves the profile in your email software (Outlook, for example).
- An error on a profile? The “Report it to the association” link, at the bottom of the profile, prepares the email.
News and editorial
The news FR covers the life of the association, in French. The buttons at the top of the page sort it by section (names in French): “Vie de la compagnie”, “Actions de terrain”, “Formations”, “Juridictions et partenaires”, “Fiches pratiques”, “Veille réglementaire”.
The practical guides (“Fiches pratiques”) and the regulatory watch (“Veille réglementaire”) show the public only their beginning, or a summary: the rest is reserved for members of the association, who read it in full in their area (“Lire la suite dans mon espace”, read more in my area).
The latest editorial FR appears on the home page; earlier ones remain available on its page.
Registering for a training session
The training page FR, in French, lists upcoming sessions (date, times, venue, in person or by video conference), then past ones. Each one is “Ouverte à tous” (open to all) or “Réservée aux membres de la compagnie” (members of the association only).
- Member of the association: open the session, then “m’inscrire depuis mon espace” (register from my area); once you are signed in, the “Mes formations” section registers you in one click.
- “Ajouter à mon agenda” (add to my calendar): this button, on the page of an upcoming session, adds the date, time and venue to the calendar of your phone or email software.
- Other people, for a session open to all: fill in the form at the bottom of the session’s page (surname, first name, email, title or role), tick the consent box, then click “M’inscrire” (register).
Registration is recorded at once, within the limit of places: a full session says so, and registration closes on the day of the session. The site sends no messages: the association writes to you before the session.
Paid sessions: the price is shown on the session’s page (“Tarif”), for members and for other participants. Registration is first a request, which holds your place; it is confirmed when the association receives your payment (bank transfer or cheque), following the instructions shown after registering.
Search the site
The magnifying glass, at the top right of every page next to the flags, opens the Search the site page (also linked at the bottom of every page). It searches everything the site publishes: the association’s pages (joining, becoming an expert, the CNCEJ, judicial expert assessment, contact, legal notice), the news, the editorials, the training sessions and this help. To find an expert or an interpreter, use the directory: the results page shows how many experts also match your words, with a link to the directory.
- Every word you type must appear in the text (for example “membership fee”); accents, capital letters and short words (the, of, and…) are ignored.
- Results are grouped by section, the most relevant first, with an extract in which your words are highlighted.
- The news, editorials and training sessions are published in French: type French words to find them (for example “formation”).
- The members’ area and its documents never appear: they are reserved for signed-in members.
The association, joining, becoming an expert
- The association: who it is, what it does.
- CNCEJ: the national council of which it is a member.
- Join: how to join the association.
- Become an expert: registration on the Court of Appeal list.
- What is a judicial expert assessment?
Contacting the association
Write to expertsjustice973@gmail.com. The association will point you to an expert; it does not give advice on individual cases.
The site in your language
The small flags at the top of every page display the site in French, English, Brazilian Portuguese, Spanish or Dutch: the home page, the directory and the experts’ profiles, the interpreters page, the association’s pages, the search and this help.
- The news, the editorial, the training sessions and the members’ area (with its help) exist only in French: their links carry the small “FR” mark.
- In the translated directory, specialities are translated; on an expert’s profile, the official French name of each speciality remains written underneath. The title “expert près la cour d’appel de Cayenne” is the one protected by law.
- Only the French version of the pages is authoritative: each translated page says so, with a link to the French version.
Your data
The site places no audience-measurement or advertising cookies. An expert may ask for their profile to be corrected, or object to its publication, by writing to the association. The details are in the legal notice.
The members’ area
Members of the association have an area of their own: they update their contact details there, find their documents (membership receipts…), register for training sessions and read in full the articles reserved for them. It is reached through the “Members’ area” link, in the menu of every page (and at the bottom), with the username received in the invitation. It exists only in French.
Instructions are in the members’ area help FR.

- To enlarge the text: Ctrl and + on a computer (Ctrl and 0 to go back), two fingers spreading apart on a phone.
- A profile prints without the menu or the call buttons: your browser’s “Print” command (Ctrl and P).
